Take Flight!

A conversation with a friend the other day revealed that he hates spring. He loves that it’s transitioning from winter to summer, but the bipolar weather with the mud isn’t his favorite. I, on the other hand, love it!

While spring isn’t my favorite season, I love the warm sunshine with the snow flurries… in one day. I love the new growth shooting up, the rushing water, the myriad changes, and especially, the birds. This is migration season.

I went out to some fields in the valley to look at what was migrating through and hanging out in the ponds. Five eagles sat in cottonwoods overlooking these ponds completely overwhelmed at the thousands of waterfowl making a racket and a ruckus in the water below. This cacophony only lasts for a few weeks in the spring and the fall and I love it.

So I say, “Welcome spring! Take flight!”
