Trick Falls

Running Eagle Falls 2014

Trick Falls

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. I’ve not been out much due to the crazy amounts of rain we received. I have to admit I’ve become a bit of a fair-weather hiker. In addition to that, we got a little water in our basement, so that’s been taking up some time (and money).

My wife and a friend of mine decided that we were going to head out on Sunday. Although the weather kept us close to our cars, we were able to gaze at the always lovely Running Eagle Falls (aka Trick Falls or Pitamakan Falls). In the spring, the falls pours over the top, while approximately halfway down the cliff, you can see the “trick” part of the falls. The latter runs all year.

Silky Phacelia

Wildflowers and birds aplenty including this Silky Phacelia that caught my eye as well.

Summer is upon us. It’s time to get out more.
